What does epoxy flooring cost per sqft in Thrissur?
Epoxy flooring in Thrissur typically works out to ₹65 to ₹90 per sqft for a standard 0.3mm to 0.5mm coating, ₹110 to ₹160 per sqft for a 1mm body coat industrial system, and ₹220 to ₹400 per sqft for self leveling and metallic decorative finishes. How long does an epoxy floor last?
A correctly prepped and applied epoxy floor lasts 7 to 12 years in residential use, 5 to 8 years in light commercial, and 3 to 5 years in heavy industrial before a recoat is needed. Most failures we get called to repair are from poor substrate prep and moisture testing skipped at the start, not from the resin itself.
Epoxy or PU or tiles, which floor should I choose?
Epoxy is best for showrooms, garages, offices, parking, dry industrial and decorative residential. PU is the choice where there is heat, thermal shock, harsh chemicals or constant water (food processing, dairy, bakeries). Tiles are still fine for normal homes. We help you pick the right system during the site survey, including hybrid floors where epoxy and PU work together.
How long does an epoxy floor take to apply?
A typical 1000 sqft floor takes 2 to 4 days from prep to handover. Day 1 grind and prep, day 2 primer and body coat, day 3 cure and top coat, day 4 final cure. Foot traffic at 12 hours after the top coat, vehicle traffic at 24 to 48 hours. Larger floors are scheduled in a written timeline as part of the quote.
Will an epoxy floor crack or peel in Kerala humidity?
Properly applied epoxy does not crack or peel in Kerala humidity if substrate moisture is tested and within tolerance, the prep is honest (diamond grinding, not just sweeping), and the right primer is used. We do a calcium carbide moisture test before quoting industrial floors and do not apply over a damp slab.
Which brands and resin systems do you use?
Asian Paints SmartCare, Sika, MYK Laticrete and Berger Construction Chemicals are our defaults. Brand and grade is named on the quote and not substituted without your written approval. For food grade and ESD work we use the manufacturer specified system end to end with documented batch numbers.
Can you apply over existing tiles or do they need removal?
Both are possible. Over tiles we mechanically rough the surface, fill grout lines, prime with a tile bonding primer and then build the system. Tile removal gives a longer lasting result for industrial and high traffic floors but adds 2 to 3 days to the timeline. We compare both options during the survey with their cost difference.
Do you offer anti static, food grade and decorative finishes?
Yes. Anti static and ESD epoxy with embedded copper grid for electronics and server rooms. Food grade epoxy and PU systems with coved skirting for commercial kitchens, dairies and hospital labs. Metallic, flake and self leveling decorative epoxy for villas, hotel lobbies and showrooms. Each system has its own data sheet on the quote.
Do you handle warehouse and basement parking floors?
Yes, this is a large part of our work. Warehouse floors are coated to handle forklift traffic with line markings for aisles and bays. Basement parking gets line markings for slots, directional arrows and pedestrian zones. We work in night and weekend windows so live operations are not disrupted.
Can you repair an old epoxy floor instead of redoing it?
Yes. For floors where the failure is localised we diamond grind the failed area, repair cracks, primer and recoat to match. For full floor failures we typically remove and recoat. We diagnose the cause first (moisture, prep, chemical attack) so the new coating actually lasts.
What does the 1 year service cover include?
Free callouts in the first year for any peeling, bubbling, hot tyre marks or finish issues attributable to our workmanship and materials. Damage from chemical spills outside the rated tolerance, structural cracks, or third party renovation work is excluded. From year two we offer optional AMC at a nominal annual fee.
